Our Team.
Driving Progress. Delivering Results.
Pooginook • Knowledge • Confidence • Profit •
Pooginook • Knowledge • Confidence • Profit •
At Pooginook, success is built on strong values, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous progression. Every member of our team — from breeding to operations — plays a role in delivering better genetics, better knowledge, and better outcomes for producers. We believe real progress comes from combining practical experience with education and innovation, and we invest in both our people and our programs to stay ahead of industry challenges. It’s this shared commitment that gives producers the confidence to back Pooginook genetics, year after year.
Our Culture and Values
What We Stand For
At Pooginook, breeding great sheep is only part of the story.
The real difference lies in the culture that drives everything we do — in the paddock, in the office, and across every interaction with our clients and community.
We believe in four simple values that guide our work:

-
Proof Over Promises
At Pooginook, results are earned, not assumed. Every ram, every sale, and every decision is backed by real data, measurable outcomes, and on-ground performance. Trust isn’t won by talking — it's earned by delivering.
-
Resilience Built In
True resilience isn’t about surviving one good year — it's about thriving through many tough ones. We breed sheep — and build teams — that can handle pressure, adapt fast, and perform when it matters most.
-
Better Sheep, Better Business
At Pooginook, better genetics start with better people. Our team works to breed sheep that lift profit, efficiency, and certainty for producers — building stronger, more sustainable businesses with every generation.
-
Always Evolving
Standing still isn’t an option. From fleece weighing to full-flock DNA testing, Pooginook has always moved first — not followed. We invest in our team, our infrastructure, and our programs to stay ahead of industry challenges, not behind them.
Our Commitment.
Backed by People, Proven by Results.
At Pooginook, our commitment is built on more than genetics — it’s built on the people who back every decision we make. We believe that delivering better sheep starts with building a team that values responsibility, innovation, and resilience. Every member of our team is committed to driving results that stand up to real-world challenges, not just headline figures. We invest in better systems, better data, and better education because standing still isn't an option — not for us, and not for the producers who trust us. Our focus is simple: to help build stronger, more sustainable businesses by delivering genetics, knowledge, and support that producers can depend on, season after season.
The Team That Drives Us Forward
At Pooginook, success is built from the ground up — by people who know their craft, back their decisions with knowledge, and work as one team to deliver better results for producers. Every season, every ram, every outcome starts with them.
-
Stud and Station Manager
Known to many as "Gloves," Andrew brings leadership, depth of knowledge, and a strong producer-first focus to Pooginook. Raised in Cootamundra, he completed a Bachelor of Livestock Science Sheep and Wool through UNE in 2009 before setting up a contracting business which he and Peta ran for 10 years. Five years as operations manager at another well-known Merino Stud prior to starting at PGK means there is a depth of knowledge that backs his intuition to make decisions that continue drive station and client success. Whether advancing breeding strategies or helping clients meet their goals, Andrew’s commitment to real-world results underpins every decision at Pooginook
-
Managers Assistant
Mum of four boys and successful self-starter. Peta is committed to assisting the team to ensure smooth daily operations, whilst looking after event management. Peta has a strong passion for family and community ensuring employees, contractors and visitors all feel a valued part of the Pooginook culture.
-
Overseer Property Operations
Hailing from Broadford, Clancy supports livestock and paddock operations with a strong work ethic and practical approach. His love of working with stock and dogs — and being part of a close-knit team — drives his commitment to the daily success of the station. Clancy’s energy and resilience help maintain the high standards expected across Pooginook’s breeding and commercial programs.
-
Senior Station Hand
Nancy is a highly experienced and valued member of the Pooginook team, recently re-joining the station after several years of service. Having worked at Pooginook for eight years prior to 2023 — and with two years’ experience at Paraway’s Cooinbil Station — Nancy brings deep knowledge of station operations, livestock management, and stud work. Her practical expertise and commitment to high standards strengthen the daily operations of both the stud and commercial flocks.
